  HOOBLER, Wayne Barrington “Barry” — Passed away at a local hospital on August 19, 2005, after a courageous fight against cancer. He was born November 10, 1944, in San Francisco, California. He moved to Sutherlin, Oregon with his family in 1962. There he met and married Suzanne Kay Atterbury in 1963, who preceded him in death in 1996. Other family that preceded him were sons, Stephen Wayne; Larry Dee; infant daughter, Ann Marie; and his parents, Wayne and Iilo Hoobler. Wayne is survived by sons, Mark Hoobler; James and wife Cheryl of Lake Isabella, California; Craig and wife Tracey of Sutherlin, Oregon; sister, Claire and husband Craig Weaver of Roseburg, Oregon; grandchildren, Austin; Kay Ann Marie; Jason; Terry and Stephen; nieces and nephews; and significant other, Bunny Fitzpatrick of Sutherlin. Wayne was active in the local Eagles Lodge of Sutherlin up until the days before his passing. He loved to recite songs and poems from memory that his grandmother taught him as a child, doing karaoke, and also spent hours on the computer with people from all over the world. Special “Thank You’s” go to the staff in PCU & Ambulatory Therapy Clinic at Mercy Medical Center and to Dr.’s Luana Nedita and Edward Ottenheimer for the wonderful compassion shown to Wayne and his family. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Fair Oaks Cemetery. Military honors provided by VFW District 12 Honor Guard. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society and left at the CHAPEL OF THE FIRS in Sutherlin.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Bob Atterbury, on Nov. 16, 1969, and they shared 46 loving years together. She was a loving mom of three children, Shon (Lisa), Ron (Nikki) and Jody (Joe). She has nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Judy always said there was nothing she loved more than being a mom and raising her family. She was such an amazing mom. Her love was so fierce and unconditional. Her heart was so giving and her personality was larger than life. If you knew Judy you knew love. Judy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Allen and great-grandson Fostino. A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. on Jan. 27, at the Sutherlin Community Center.
