    College Place —Mark Tyler “Markie” Gilliam, 18, of 1024 S.E. Date St. died at home March 15, 2005, because of influenza, pneumonia and aspiration.
    Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday, followed at 2 p.m. by the funeral, all at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St. The Rev. Robin Peterson of College Place Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. Second Ave.
    Memorials may be made to Mark Tyler Gilliam Memorial Trust Fund through the funeral home.
    Mr. Gilliam was born Aug. 27, 1986, in Walla Walla to Mark R. Gilliam and Tammy Luchte. He graduated in 2004 from Walla Walla High School, where he earned many judo trophies, was president of the Judo Club, took sixth in the 2002 high school nationals and ranked second in Pacific Northwest high schools, including Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Idaho. He earned a third-degree brown belt. His inspiration was judo instructor Oscar Garnica.
    An outgoing, athletic person, he enjoyed his friendships and family. He was on the City Youth Football Chiefs Team in younger years. He also enjoyed collecting wolves and playing baseball, basketball and cards, and dancing, hunting and fishing. He was passionate about art, wrote poems and drew pictures.
    He was a food server at Arby’s restaurant.
    Survivors include mother Tammy Morales of Spokane; his father of Walla Walla; sister Mickiela Sherman of Spokane; three brothers, Brandon Handran and Lance and Jaron Carpenter, all of Spokane; seven grandparents, Jim and Velma Gilliam, Melvena and Barney Blackman and James Luchte, all of Walla Walla, and Darlene Ruchert-Clegg and Jerry Clegg of College Place; great-grandmother Betty Harpe of Walla Walla; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfather Don Ruchert; and three great-grandparents Dan Gilliam, Violet Bates and Bud Harpe. on Friday, 18 March 2005 Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington.

    Graveside services were held for Goldie Davis Gilliam Tarr May 16 at Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Goldie was born Aug. 4, 1940, in Tillamook to Algie and Ada Gilliam and died May 12, 2003, at her home in Tillamook at the age of 62.
    Goldie attended school in Tillamook. She later married Harry Tarr in 1958 in Tillamook.
    She worked for several places in Tillamook, including LP Plywood Mill for 13 years, for an assisted living adult care home and also sold Avon products. Taking care of her family and friends was her labor of love. Goldie was also a member of the Tillamook Pioneer Association. She enjoyed doing many crafts, especially needlepoint and quilt tops. Goldie is survived by her husband, Harry Tarr of Tillamook; three children, John Tarr, Donna Blaser and Barbara Tarr, all of Tillamook; one brother, Jim Davis of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Alice Bolin of Oak Ridge, and Raygina Young of Springfield; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Goldie was preceded in death by half sister Wanda Gilliam and sister Elaine Gilliam.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or Tillamook Hospice Program.
    Arrangements were in care of Waud's Funeral Home. on Wednesday, 21 May 2003 Tillamook, Tillamook County, Oregon.

    Alice Juanita Gilliam was born Feb. 18, 1917, at Locust Grove, Okla. She was the second eldest of seven children born to David Luther Givens and Anna Arlinta Lucretia Mae (Taylor).
    She married Hillary Woodson Creech Jan. 17, 1932. He preceded her in death after 33 years and 8 months of marriage.
    From that union came her children: a daughter, Alice Roberta, and a son, David Louis, who died at the age of 6 months.
    Juanita and her husband came to Oregon in January of 1949, eventually settling in Garibaldi. Through the years of 1949-1960, she worked as nurse's aide in Tillamook County General Hospital and Tillamook Care Center. During those years she gained her much-prized certificate as an LPN - licensed practical nurse.
    She remarried March 5, 1967, to Algie Douglas Gilliam. Before settling down in Garibaldi, they lived in Missouri, then Oklahoma, returning to Oregon in 1983. She and Doug enjoyed traveling as "rock-hounds," searching out petrified wood and/or opalized rock, fashioning them into pieces of jewelry, which they loved to share with family members as well as the market.
    Among her many talents she enjoyed woodcrafting (even assisting both husband's in remodeling some of their homes), hunting small game, fishing, needlework, writing, reading, oil painting and genealogy.
    She and Doug settled in Garibaldi in 1993, where she lived at the time of her death on April 15, 2001.
    They were regular attendees of Garibaldi Faith Fellowship Center until sickness prevented them from going. She left a legacy of faith in the living God to all who knew her. on Wednesday, 18 April 2001 Tillamook, Tillamook County, Oregon.
