    Service for Raymond O. Belieu, 68, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service. Mr. Belieu died Thursday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Son of William Henry and Beulah (Robinson) Belieu, he was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Malden, Wash., and came to Spokane in 1924. He was a self-employed painter for 20 years and was a member of the Painters Union Local 269. He served with the Navy during World War II. Survivors includes his wife, Doris, at the home; three sons, William and Kevin Belieu, both of Spokane, and Dale Belieu of Republic, Wash; three daughters, Donna Stutheit, Judith Knope and Gayle Vetsch, all of Spokane; one brother John W. Belieu of Spokane; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was born June 21, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Beryl & Bernese Bonewitz. Jerry served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. After his military service, he received his Bachelor Degree from Missouri Valley College in 1965, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. His work history included Missouri Pacific Railroad as a Train Master, and Ag Processing Inc as a Broker of Transportation, retiring as Assistant Vice President. After retirement-2002, Jerry moved to Hot Springs Village where he was an avid golfer, and became a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Jerry is preceded in death by wives, Betty Boswell Bonewitz, Nancy Fulton Bonewitz, and his son Nathan Bonewitz. Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Frances Montgomery-Bonewitz; children Jennifer Mae DeMoss and Darla Kaye O’Kane; daughter-in-law Rachael Bonewitz; brother Don Bonewitz (Linda); sister Janice Dillon-Himegarner; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nephew David Dillon (Rebecca) and niece DeAnn Hanson (Dave). Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 Monday, June 14, 2021 with memorial service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Benke officiating.
