Leonie C. Donahoe, 70, Lewiston
Leonie Cortesy Donahoe, 70, died at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, 2000, of causes related to cancer.
Leonie was born May 12, 1930, to Leo and Irene Cortesy in Spokane. She attended Holy Names Academy and graduated in 1948.
She married Daniel Donahoe Nov. 17, 1951, in Spokane. They moved to Lewiston in 1958. In 1973, she joined her husband at Industrial and Electric Supply as bookkeeper until she retired in 1992.
She was an active member of St. Stanislaus Parish and past co-president of St. Stanislaus and Our Lady of Lourdes PTA with Dan. Leonie served as a Campfire leader and Cub Scout den mother and was a sustaining member of the Lewiston Service League. She was very proud of her family. She enjoyed reading, travel, puzzles and knitting. She won several best of class and blue ribbons at the Nez Perce County Fair. Leonie and Dan enjoyed the last several winters in Palm Desert, Calif.
Survivors include her husband Dan at their Lewiston home; two sons, Daniel L. Donahoe and his wife Kathy, of Spokane, and Tom Donahoe and his wife Valerie, of Los Angeles; three daughters, Meg Kennedy of Seattle, Betsy Bolland and her husband Mark, of Lewiston, and Mary Lou Riddle and her husband Doug, of Lewiston; her sister, Louise Pinch of Seattle; and her brother, James Cortesy of Orange County, Calif.
Leonie is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Colin and Michael Donahoe, Jessica Gregory, Tom Donahoe, Ryan Kennedy, Devin Wright, Shain, Tyler, Kylie and Mark J. Bolland, Jordan, Kelly, Emma and Patrick Riddle and three great-granddaughters, Taylor, Madison and Lily Gregory.
Daughters Kelly Donahoe and Sheila Maureen Donahoe and sisters Kylie Masterson and Dorothy Potter preceded her in death.
A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lewiston. The funeral liturgy will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, with burial to follow at Normal Hill Cemetery. Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
