Nathan B. Moore (Twin)

M, b. 25 September 1941, d. 18 March 2023
  • (Witness) Census: He appeared on the census of 12 April 1950 in the household of Otis Branch Moore at Taylor County, Texas.
  • Obituary*: An obituary appeared in the Nathan B Moore passed from this life on Saturday, March 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He fought esophageal cancer for more than a year with all that he had and he did it with dignity and quiet strength. We were blessed by his life and are saddened by his death. Nathan worked as a County Office Reviewer for the Farm Service Agency (Dept. of Agriculture) for 30 years. He knew the rules and followed them in each office review he did. Nathan stayed in touch with his co-workers after retiring at age 70 and his values of doing the job right are one of their memories of him. One of Nathan's joys was that he served in the Texas National Guard from 1963 to 1970. He told many stories of his time in boot camp and of going through officer candidate school and he laughed each time he told them. He loved serving and cared about the friends he made there. Nathan wrote about his life and presented his book, "My Life as I Choose to Remember It", to each family member. His shared memories are alive again because he took the time to write them down and they will be passed on to future generations as they choose to remember them. Nathan sat for hours researching family history and some of his findings are in the book. He was fond of telling of the time he asked his uncle to tell him about family history and his uncle told him to, "Just make it up because nobody will know the difference." Anyone knowing Nathan would know that his need for accuracy would not allow him to just "make it up". Nathan was husband and best friend to Nina Christine (Chris) Moore for more than 57 years, and a loving father to Kathy (Bret) Burton, Tracy (Kent) Kleypas, Misty (John) Pohly, James (Janet) Moore, and John (Steve Soldan) Moore, and niece Cherie Holy (Mike) Solheim. He was the proud PawPaw to Chandler (Laura Beth) Burton, Marshall (Brooke) Burton, Graham Burton, Morgan (Ashton) Vogel, Michaela (Nick) Lenn, Madison Kleypas, William Kleypas, Grady Nelon, Bonnie Pohly, Grace Moore, Layla Moore, Phoebe Moore, Catherine (Justin) Janke, John Solheim, and Amy Solheim. He was a proud Great-Paw Paw to Banks, Baylor, Lincoln, Atlas, Ireland, Jack and Charlie. He was the son of the late Otis Branch and Joy Juanita Doan Moore, and brother to Nita (Donald-deceased) Dale, James (Linnie) Moore, Tommy (Rosa) Moore, and Mary Jacqueline (George) Webb. He loved his many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held in the Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Burnet, TX on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Tx. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Nathan's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
