    Joan Marilyn was born in Dallas, Texas, to the late Miles E. and Opal E. Gammill. A member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was also active in the W.E.L.C.A. A 25 year resident of Chappell Hill, Joan loved to play bridge, bunco, and canasta. Traveling was a favorite pastime and she treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Charles Kane; and daughter, Lisa Joan Kane.

    Survivors include sons, Michael "Mike" Patrick Kane and wife, Sandra, of Ruston, LA, and Richard "Rick" Charles Kane II and wife, Laurie, of Sugar Land; grandchildren: Jake Kane, Caroline Kane, and Mackenzie Kane; sister, Diane Cameron, of Houston; niece, Beverly Grice; and great-niece, Shelby Smith.

    Roswell, N.M. - Services for former Wyoming resident, Ross A. Burd, 73, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell. Mr. Burd died March 9, 1992. He was born Sept. 17, 1918, in Sheridan, the son of Ross Albert and Hilda O. (Gruenberg) Burd. On Dec. 17, 1956, he married Helen Pierce in Las Vegas, Nev. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and received the Purple Heart. Mr. Burd was self-employed as a commercial builder and moved from Casper to Roswell in 1980. A member of the Disabled American Veterans, Mr. Burd was also a member of the American Legion and hte Jack Chew's Senior Bowling League. Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Gerald Burd of Roswell, Ross A. Burd Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., and Randall L. Pierce of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are a daughter, Catherine J. Taylor of Bedford, Texas; a brother, Edward E. Burd of Casper; a sister, Virginia Toth of Casper; four grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Burial will be in the South Park Cemetery.

    Roswell, N.M. - Roswell resident Helen N. Burd, 68, sister of Linda Flack and Kay Martines of Casper, died Jan.4, 1996, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell with Elton Dillbeck of West Country Club Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Mrs. Burd was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Gridley, Kan., to Jacob and Katyherina (Bohl) Neu. On Dec. 17, 1956, she married Ross A. Burd in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marie Trupp and a brother, Herman Neu. Mrs. Burd was a homemaker and lived in Roswell for 15 years. She was a member of the Lutheran church. Besides her sisters, survivors include three sons, Gerald Burd of Roswell, Ross Burd Jr. of Overland Park, Kan., and Randall Pierce of Seoul, Korea; her daughter, Cathy Taylor of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Ruben Neu of Los Angeles, Jacob Neu and Victor Neu, both of Scottsbluff, Neb; and five grandchildren. The LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Burd, who was born in Mountain Meadow Ranch, Utah, was a resident of Murrieta for 18 years. She was a wire fabricator in Pasadena for five years. Mrs. Burd is survived by her sons, Timothy of Hacienda Heights, Miles of Covina; two daughters, Maureen of Dayton, Nev., Dian of Murrieta; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, George of Utah and Gordon of Oregon.
