  Nelson A. Paul, 77, a lifetime resident of Tillamook, died Sunday, Aug. 12, in Tillamook.
  Mr. Paul was born on Jan. 28, 1902 in Tillamook, where he grew up and attended school. After graduating from high school, he drove school buses and worked for Mountain States Power Company. He was later employed on the Tillamook County road crew for 35 years, and also during this time he was a dairy farmer. He and his wife, the former Bessie Gilliam, were married on Aug. 24, 1924 in Vancouver, Wash.
  Mr. Paul belonged to the Tillamook County Pioneer Association and was a member of Tillamook Elks Lodge No. 1437.
  He is survived by his wife, Bessie, of Tillamook; son, Jerry, of Portland; daughter, Genevieve, Beaverton; two sisters, Esther Paul and Ruth Hall, both of Tillamook; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
  Services for Mr. Paul were held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Waud's Funeral Home, with ritual services under the auspices of Tillamook Elks Lodge No. 1437. Vault entombment was at Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens. on Wednesday, 22 August 1979 Tillamook, Tillamook County, Oregon.

  Mr. Paul's survivors include: his wife, Marjorie (Sargent) Paul; daughter, Sandra Lee Moriearty of Colorado; sons, James Frank Paul of Texas, and Andrew Edward Paul of Portland, and four grandchildren.
  Memorial services were held Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Burn's Riverside Chapel in Florence. Private cremational rites were held. Arrangements were directed by Burns' Riverside Chapel. Contributions may be made to Elks Eye Bank or the Cancer Fund. on Wednesday, 1 March 2000 Tillamook, Tillamook County, Oregon.
