    A private service will be held later for Berniece L. Agee, who was found dead Oct. 9, 1998, at age 79. Mrs. Agee was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Hebron, Neb., and grew up in Hillsboro. Her maiden name was Logan. She was an office clerk for Montgomery Ward & Co. during the 1950s and 1960s, and worked in the cafeteria of Hillsboro High School in the 1980s. In 1937, she married John W; he died in 1993. Survivors include her son, John W. Jr. of Vernonia; daughter, Karlene M. Lepley of Vancouver, Wash; brother, Wayne Logan of Granby, Mo; sister, Doris Tobler of Yelm, Wash; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Disposition was by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Washington County Hospice. Arrangements are by Donelson, Sewell & Mathews Mortuary.

    Ruth Ann (Volkman) Agee, 78, of Lebanon, died May 9, 2007, at the Mennonite Home.
    A graveside burial was held May 14 at Franklin Butte Masonic Cemetery near Scio and was followed by a memorial celebration at the United Presbyterian Church on Broadalbin in Albany.

    She was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Springfield, the daughter of William and Grace Volkman.

    After she graduated from Aumsville High School in 1947, she began working for the Oregon State Highway Department.

    In 1949, she married Lawrence Russell. He died in an accident in 1952.
    In 1954, she married Lawrence “Lefty” Kujawa.

    She was a homemaker until 1956, when she went went to work as a secretary for the superintendent at the Albany Elementary School District, where she worked until 1979.

    She and her husband divorced in 1966.

    In 1968, she married Wallace Agee.

    She worked at a Corvallis engineering firm for 16 years before retiring.

    She moved to Lebanon after her husband died.

    She volunteered and served on the board of directors of the Friends of Jazz Committee, the Downtown Albany Association, and the Linn County Fair and Expo Center. She was a two-time breast cancer survivor and attended the Lebanon Breast Cancer Support Group.

    She was a seamstress who made costumes for the Civil War reenactments, Albany's Downtown Victorian Christmas, Halloween and community events. She was a lifetime member of the Scio Historical Society.

    Survivors are her children, grandchildren and their families; Taleah and Dayton Edmonds, Alia Edmonds, Zack Schaller, Brennan Schaller, Nish Edmonds and Robert Eagleson; John and Maggie Kujawa, Kasia Kujawa and Jay Gutierrez, Haden Kujawa and Kelly Sherwood; Jill and Scott Ingalls, Matthew and Macey Henderson; Jan and Tom Sackman, Jeff and Kim Sackman; Judy and Dan Shier, Spencer, Marty, and Desiree Shier; and her former husband Lefty Kujawa.

    Her parents, husbands Larry Russell and Wally Agee, sister Lucille, grandchildren Amy and Chelsea and several cousins, aunts and uncles died before she did.

    Memorial donations may be made to the Lebanon Breast Cancer Support Group and center in care Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington, Albany, OR 97321.
