    Dr. Herbert L. Toney, manager of the First Federal Savings and Loan of McMinnville and present Venerable Master of Oregon Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rites Masons, Portland, today received notice of his selection for the honor of Knight Commander Court of Honor Supreme Council of 33rd degree of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons.
    Announcement of the honor came following the bi-annual meeting of the House of Temple in WAshington, D.C., late in October. Toney has served the lodge as Grand Master, Grand High Priest and Grand Commander.
    The McMinnville banker received his Blue Lodge degree in December 1903, and completed all the degrees of American Masonry before taking his initial Scottish Rite degrees in May 1937.
    His final degree is the final step to eligibility for selection to the 33rd degree of Masonry.

    Dr. H.L. Toney, secretary-manager of the First Federal Savings and Loan association in McMinnville, was elected to the second vice-presidency of the Oregon League of Savings and Loan associations at their annual convention in Corvallis last week. The league, composed of 26 associations throughout the state, went on record as supporting the administration's defense bond campaign, Toney said.
