  Mrs. Gilliland was born Oct. 25, 1912, in Ione, Ore., to Aaron Alvin and Lillie May Donahue Agee. She attended a Seventh-day Adventist school in Hermiston. She was baptized at 12.
  On Sept. 14, 1931, she married Robert A. Gilliland. They lived in Hermiston and in Boardman with her parents.
  
  For more than 20 years she was an Avon representative.
  
  The couple bought 40 acres of timberland on Reed & Hawley Mountain near Weston, where he built and operated a sawmill. She fired up the steam engine, ``Old Addie,'' and sold the lumber. They also worked for Harris Pine Mills, then operated more sawmills on the West Coast.
  
  She operated a pie and bread route before they moved to this area in 1955. Mr. Gilliland died Sept. 18, 1992.
  
  They bought a home on Old Milton Highway where they lived 40 years. She cooked for logging camps and for 12 years in nursing homes. She loved animals.
  
  She was a member of Stateline Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting.
  
  Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Janet Gilliland of Vancouver, Wash; a son-in-law, Stanley Long of Walla Walla; four grandchildren, Shawna Gilliland of Las Vegas, Nev., Shelly Gilliland of Caldwell, Idaho, Candi Long of Spokane and Eric Long of Walla Walla; two stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Long; four sisters and two brothers.
