  Jan K. Belieu was known as a sparkle. She was the reason for the twinkle in her husband Dale's eye, and the shimmer of the lipstick print she would leave on her children Justin and Keri's cheeks. She created the dazzle in every glitter-packed card she sent her six grandchildren.
  
  Ever since she was a young California girl, she found an appreciation for beauty and glimmer. Her sister Wendy would take her and her youngest sister to the beach daily to tire the energetic girls. Her brother William remembers during trips to the beach she would find broken glass softened by the waves. She would collect them and submerge them to expose the brilliant beauty of the hidden colors.
  
  Jesus also gave her a loving, enthusiastic spirit and a passion for helping those in need, which led her into a career as a registered nurse. Her "you can do it" speeches could light a spark in anyone's day and she was chosen as the valedictorian of her nursing class. Her sister, Heidi, admired this spark and fire that ultimately inspired her career. Jan was a ray of sunshine for each of her patients every day.
  
  Although she may have left this world early, joining her parents Red and Bonita Peterson, she can be found in the dewdrops of the early morning, within the fairy lights of a Christmas tree and among the stars of the midnight sky.
  
  In the future, her ashes will be spread from the clifftops upon the sparkling Mendocino Bay, Calif. Services were held Aug. 29 at New Bridges Community Church. on Sunday, 4 September 2016.
