A native of Barnardsville, he was the son of the late George Bunyon and Martha Harris Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Israel Davis, who died Aug.2 6, 1988, and his son, William Oliver Davis, who died Oct. 10, 1996. He was a retired roofer and devoted his life to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his daughters, Alice Lucinda Proctor of Asheville, Martha Bonita Norman of Houston, Lora Kay Andrade of Matecka, Calif., and Carol Ann Lytle of Orlanda, Fla; 14 grandchildren; a son-in-law, Ronald R. Ward Sr., with whom he made his home; and a niece, Jill Banyai of Old Fort. The funersal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Asheville Central Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Arden. Branch President Gary Bennett will officiate. Interment will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday at Williams Funeral Service. At other times, the family will be at the home of his daughter, Alice Lucinda Proctor, 21 Moffitt Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
