Rich Tributes Paid to Pioneer of Snake River Valley
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Nora Bishop, wife of J.E. Bishop, a pioneer resident of this section of the country, were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Vassar chapel, which was filled with friends to the deceased and of the stricken family. Mrs. Bishop's death occurred at 2:45 o'clock Tuesday morning after an illness of some months. Evincing the very high esteem in which the deceased was held during her many years of life in the lower Snake river country and in this city, were the floral offerings these completely banking the space at the funeral bier. The hymnal service was by Mrs. George C. Campbell, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. A.S. Stacy. The sermon was delivered by Rev. D.J.W. Somerville, rector at the Episcopal church of the Nativity.
The pallbearers were: Joseph Lasker, Jesse Mann, Samuel Barclay, Earl Parks, A.P. Atwood, and George Harrington. Th remains were laid to rest in the Normal Hill Cemetery.
Mr. J.E. Bishop and family extend their heartfelt thanks to those who so kindly ministered to them during the illness and death of their beloved wife and mother, and for the many courtesies extended during the hours of their bereavement.
