John Kerschner
U.S. Marine in WWII
John Dee Kerschner, 65, 68 Center St., Tiffin, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1992 in his home.
He was born June 23, 1927 to Forrest and Catherine (Mont) Kerschner in Seneca County. He married Virginia Miller Aug. 4, 1951 at Washington Street Methodist Church and she survives.
Also surviving are: one son, John Kerschner, Jr. of Findlay; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Debra) Morgan of Tiffin, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Hoerig of Findlay; five brothers, Virgil of Sun City, Ariz., and Dale, Karl, Gene and Duane all of Tiffin; one sister, Hariet Roley of San Bernandino (sic), Calif.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Mr. Kerschner was a retired as bar manager at the Eagles and served with the U.S. Marines during World War II.
He also was a member of VFW, DAV, Amvets, and American Legion Post 159.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hofmann-Gottfried Memorial Funeral Home, Tiffin with Rev. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. There will be a military graveside service conducted by the United Veterans Council.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospice or the donor's choice.
