- Birth*: Susan Lynn "Lynn" Kimberling was born on 19 October 1936 at Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.
- Death*: She died in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, on 15 February 2016, at the age of 79.
- Obituary*: An obituary appeared in the PORTLAND — Susan "Lynn" Brassard, 79, formerly of Prairie City, died Feb. 15 in Portland, from a condition related to Alzheimer's, with her children, Todd and Tracy at her side. A memorial stone will be placed in the family's Prairie City Cemetery plot in her memory. Mrs. Brassard was born Oct. 19, 1936, to Delbert Oliver and Evelyn Bertha Kimberling. She grew up in Portland and on a small farm near Hillsboro, graduating from Hill High. After attending her freshman year at Prairie City High School, while living with her paternal grandparents, she dreamed of returning to the upper John Day River Valley to live. She raised her family — children, William Michael Grover, Tracy Lynn-Hiatt and Todd Alan Grover — in a young Cedar Mill neighborhood. She attended her children's activities, and volunteered at the Audubon Society of Portland and the Portland Zoo nursery in her late thirties and early forties. She deeply cared for the environment and all living things — one of many moral values she imprinted into her children's lives. After a divorce from a near 25-year marriage with William Jay Grover, she moved to a small ranch owned by her parents and lived for the next 35 years in a log house on Deardorff Creek. She loved living there and kept busy meticulously caring for her house and yard. She remarried for 10 years to Dan Brassard and enjoyed their outdoor adventures. She continued living in the log house while she cared for her father and mother as they aged. After diagnosis of Alzheimer's, she remained living in her house as long as possible with help from her son, Todd, and from her nephew and his wife, Shad and Diana Woodruff. In January 2015, her son moved her into a memory care facility in Portland in close proximity to his home and work. She entered a hospice program in January 2016, while able to stay in the same facility. She will be remembered for the love and care she gave.
