He attended High School at Our Lady of Sorrows, St. Lawrence, and ultimately, Benson High School, from which he graduated in 1943. Ray served in the United States Navy from July 1, 1943, until his honorable discharge on February 27, 1946. He served during WWII, and his Navy Group was among one of the first to occupy Japan at the end of the war, after the surrender. On September 1st, 1951, Ray married the love of his life, Claire Garrett. They had 57 wonderful years together, and they were married until her passing on May 18, 2008. Ray worked as an engine rebuilder at Lomac motors for 34 years, and he retired in 1981. He loved to travel, and the highlight of his life was the two trips he took to China. He also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, baking pastries (especially chocolate eclairs), and tending to his vegetable garden, as well as the roses in front of his house. Ray is survived by his brother, Dennis Stickel of Depoe Bay, Oregon. A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 2017, at 1pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.

    Albert J. Librizzi, 66, of Venus, Pinegrove Township, Venango County, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in Clarion Hospital. Born July 18, 1934, in Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of Rosario and Rose GREENBURG Librizzi. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Librizzi retired in 1995 after more than 30 years of service with General Telephone in California. He was a member of the USS Tarawa CVA-40 Association and the USS Maddox Destroyer Association. Mr. Librizzi first was married to Janice Librizzi, who died in 1995. He then was married Sept. 22, 1995, to Patricia JOHNSON EXLEY, who
    survives. Also surviving are two sons, Nicholas Librizzi of California and Angelo Librizzi of Michigan; one sister, Anna GRECO of Long Island, N.Y; two brothers and their wives, Joseph and Rose Librizzi of Long Island and Victor and Marge Librizzi of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Monroe Cemetery, Turkey City.
