• Obituary: An obituary appeared in the Mr. Livingston Dies in Hospital
  Newton Livingston, former resident, and a pioneer stockman of Grant and Douglas counties died Monday at the Good Samaritan Hsopital, in Portland, after an illness of several months. Mr. Livingston was born in Livingston county, Missouri, from whence he moved to Douglas county with the family. He had been engaged in stock raising in this county for a number of years and served as Sheriff of Grant county for some time. He leaves four daughters, beside a number of neices [sic] and nephews. Three of hte daughters, Mrs. Boone Moyer, Mrs. H. Thornton, and Mrs. Emma Remington are residents of Portland. Mr. Livingston leaves a number of friends in the city and county, who will be grieved to learn of his death. The body will arrive here Thursday morning on Number 53, and will be taken directly to the Melrose cemetery for burial in the family tomb. after 23 February 1925.
