Married Grace Wineland, 1947, in Goldendale, WA. He was a member of the LDS Church. Robert, known by his friends as "Bob," spent most of his childhood in Milton, OR with his uncle. Bob did not have an opportunity to complete his education, beginning work at age 12. When he turned 15 he had saved enough money to buy his first truck in 1926. He worked as a lumberjack throughout the Northwest and Alaska. He moved to Utah in the 1950s and worked in the building construction industry. His last job was with Hayes Brothers Buick, Salt Lake City, where he worked on cars. His lumberjack constitution sustained his health and he outlived all his known relatives. A memorial service will be held for Bob at the McKinley LDS Ward Chapel, Salt Lake City, Tues. April 15, 2003, at 2 p.m.
