  EUGENE SPLAWN PASSES AWAY
  Eugene Monroe Splawn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion M. Splawn, was born at Lyle, Washington, December 27, 1895, He passed away after a brief illness, Friday, May 30th.
  He was married to Pearl Montague September 4, 1937.
  In 1937, he moved to Goldendale from Lyle, Washington. He worked in the county Engineers office and for the past five years has been employed in the County Auditor's office.
  He was a member of the Goldendale I.O.O.F. lodge.
  He is survived by his widow, two brothers, John Splawn of White Salmon, Washington and William Splawn of Seaside, Oregon, also six stepchildren.

  EUGENE SPLAWN DIES OF STROKE
  Eugene Monroe Splawn, pioneer native son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion M. Splawn, was born at Lyle, Wn. December 27, 1895. On Monday morning, May 26 in a state of coma caused by a stroke he was taken from his Goldendale home to The Dalles hospital. Death came to him on Memorial Day.
  He was married to Pearl Montague on September 4, 1937, and that same year moved from Lyle to Goldendale. For five years he worked in the County Engineer's office and since then has been in charge of licenses in the County Auditor's office. He was a member of the IOOF lodge of Goldendale.
  Funeral services were held from Phillip's funeral home in Goldendale on Sunday. His remains were interred at the Lyle cemetery Sunday afternoon. Surviving him are his widow and two brothers, John Splawn of White Salmon and William Splawn of Seaside, Oregon, and six step-children.

  EUGENE M. SPLAWN PASSES; SERVICES SUNDAY, JUNE 1ST
  Eugene M. Splawn, 57, congenial deputy in the County Auditor's office, passed away in The Dalles hospital Friday, May 30. Splawn was the victim of a stroke Monday, May 26, which was the cause of his death.
  Services were held from the Phillip's Funeral Home Sunday, June 1, with the Rev. Walter G. Smith officiating. Interment was made in the Lyle cemetery with the I.O.O.F. in charge.
  Splawn was a native of Lyle, being born there December 27, 1895, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion M. Splawn. On September 4, 1937, he was united in marriage to Pearl Montague. He served for a number of years as postmaster at Lyle.
  In 1937 he moved to Goldendale, where he worked as a deputy in the County Engineer's office, later entering the Auditor's office where he had charge of the automobile license department until his death. He had been a deputy in the Auditor's office for the past five years.
  He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Survivors include his widow, Pearl, two brothers, Deputy Sheriff John Splawn of White Salmon and William Splawn of Seaside. Two step children also survive.
  Pallbearers were F. Woosley, Hildor Kure, Homer James, Reece Jackson, E.C. Kaiser and Earl Jones. on Thursday, 5 June 1952 White Salmon, Klickitat County, Washington.
