Mr. Mens was rushed to the hospital following the accident and an emergency brain operation was undergone in an attempt to save his life. He failed to rally. The accident happened at about noon Monday when Mr. Mens was walking towards his home seven blocks east of St Paul Street on Mineral Springs Avenue. He was crossing the avenue at the St Paul intersection when struck by a westbound car. Arrangements for the funeral in charge by Hanna Meyer Service will be made today. on Thursday, 23 December 1943 Owatonna, Steele County, Minnesota.

  The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1301 Lincoln
  Ave. The Rev. R. Rudolf officiates. Interment is at Grandview Memorial
  Garden. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Michaelson Funeral Home, 303 S. Cedar St. and one hour before the service Thursday at the church. on Tuesday, 31 July 1984.

  Surviving are her sons, Robert of Tigard and John of King City; brother, Michael Burger of Chula Vista, Calif; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
  The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the Parkinson's Association.
