Funeral services for Mrs. Serena Jane Agee Arthur, 66, a native of Yamhill county who died at her home in Portland, Dec. 23, were held Thursday. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Arthur was born July 26, 1868, in Gopher valley where her father, J.K. Agee, settled in 1850. She was married to William C. Arthur, brother of A.F. Arthur of this city, at Lafayette, October 24, 1884, and they made their home in McMinnville until about 25 years ago when they moved to Portland where Mr. Arthur continued as a general contractor. With their entire family at home, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur recently observed their golden wedding anniversary.
Besides her widower, she is survived by three sons, Orville L., Maurice L., and Earl H. Arthur; three sisters, Mrs. F.G. Howenstein and Mrs. James Welch of Aberdeen, Wash., and Mrs. A.L. Stow, Oakland, Ore; two brothers, W. H. Agee, McMinnville, and Irvin Agee, Aberdeen, Wash; four half-brothers, Ed Agee of Dallas, Oscar Agee of Idaho, Loren Agee of Ashland and Elmer Agee of eastern Oregon; a half-sister residing in Portland, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday for Mrs. Serena Jane Arthur, 66, native of Oregon, who died Sunday at the family home, 4403 Southeast Mitchell street. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
Mrs. Arthur was born July 26, 1868, in Yamhill county, where her father, the late J.K. Agee, settled in 1850. She was married to William C. Arthur at Lafayette, Or., October 24, 1884. Mr. Arthur has been engaged as general contractor here for 30 years. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently at the home with the entire family.

Nellie M. Lewis died in Pendleton at St Anthony's Hospital Friday. she was 84. Mrs. Lewis was born May 4, 1900, at Wallowa, the daughter of Henry and Ada Boyd.
In 1918 she married R.J. Skillings in Enterprise.He died in December 1936.
She married Vern Lewis in 1943. He preceded her in death in January 1953.
Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and an member of the Wallowa Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Ada Flowers, Hermiston and Joan Litchfield, Wallowa. Five sisters, Alpha Wisiak, Des Moines, Iowa, Elva Marshall, La Grande; and Cora Skillings, Lida Hulse and Minnie Weaver all of Wallowa.
The service will be held today at 2p.m. at the Wallowa Church of Christ with Henry Butcher officiating. Interment will be at Bramlet Memorial Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Wallowa Church of Christ in care of the Bollman Funeral Home,which is handling the arrangements.
