    San Francisco, Calif. - Margaret Virginia Meier passed peacefully on the morning of January 19, 2004, in San Francisco, California. Born, Margaret Virginia Burger in Salem, Oregon, and known as Virginia to her friends and family, she lived in Salem and worked in the Real Estate industry until she retired and moved to San Francisco to reside with her eldest daughter. Although she will be dearly missed by friends and family in both Salem and San Francisco, she leaves a lifetime of delightful and touching memories of her generous, kind and fun loving spirit.
    
    Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1981 and her brothers, Paul, Don, Milton, and Thomas Burger, and sister, Dorothy Clinker. She will live forever in the hearts of her surviving sister, Lila Dauenhauer and brother, Jerry Burger; daughters, Margaret Cleland and Jody Bitterman; son-in-law, David Bitterman; grandchildren, Kristin, Jay, Jennifer and Sara Bitterman; and sister-in-laws, Arelene, Merrily, and Dorothy Burger.
    
    A gathering to celebrate her life will be held for family and close friends at a date yet to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Mid-Valley Rehabilitation Inc. in McMinnville, Oregon, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the charity of your choice.
