She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Claire Landreth on Feb. 16, 1977. She died April 2, 2002 at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital, Lincoln City, OR of pneumonia. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Sproed of Lincoln City, Oregon and Jeff Landreth of Lahina, Maui; her brothers, Keith Atterbury of Roseburg, OR and Clinton Atterbury of Hesperia, CA; her grandchildren, Denise Merritt of Lewiston, ID; Devin Sproed of Salem OR; Danielle Stewart of Walla Walla, WA; Jennifer Landreth of Seattle, WA; Jesse Landreth of Lahina, HI; and Jolene Landreth of Kechi, KS. She will be buried in Pacific View Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln City, Oregon. Memorials in her honor may be contributed to Maranatha Volunteers International, 166 Sacramento Inn Way, Suite 116, Sacramento, CA 95815. Novia Eugene Landreth, 735 SE Flint St., died at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1876 in Kansas, and was married to Clara A. Gage in Coquille on Nov. 15, 1899. He lived in Coquille for several years. In September, 1931, he moved from Turlock, Calif., to Roseburg. He was a retired plasterer by trade and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife Clara of Roseburg; two sons, Novia E. of Oakland, Calif., and Merle of Federal Way, Wash; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Long and Orr Mortuary, and interment will follow in Civil Bend cemetery in Winston.

On Nov. 15, 1899, he was united in marriage with Clara A. Gage in Coquille, Ore., where the couple lived for several years. Our Brother Landreth leaves to mourn; his wife, Clara, of Roseburg; two sons, Novia E. of Oakland, Calif., and Merle of Federal Way, near Tacoma, Wash; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Interment was in the Civil Bend Cemetery in Winston. Elder A.P. Ritz officiated. on Monday, 17 July 1961.
