Chester Allen was born on July 3, 1906, in Malone, Texas, the son of Jesse James and Nannie Mae (Landreth) Allen. He had lived in Hill County all of his life. In his early years he farmed and later worked at Western Auto and Hill College, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of Line Street United Methodist Church of Hillsboro.
He married Clara Jennings on Aug. 21, 1924; she preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 1991. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Evans, in 1994; by three grandchildren, Allen Eugene Evans, Carole Ann Evans and James William Brown; and a brother, Leo Allen, in 1957.
Survivors: Son, J.C. Allen and his wife, Peggy, of Irving; daughter, Joan Brown and her husband, Charlie, of Hillsboro; sister, Martha Beal of Bedford; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
